we shall be deploying powervms soon (the new p7 hardware should be here by next month) and so i decided to read more about powervm virtualisation. there are a number of educational videos on ibm developerworks wiki.
as usual, ibm has exhaustive content, but the presentation is shoddy and oh-so 1980s like; but i am not talking about the presenters themselves. the video format is WMV and apparently, the videos are made from the webinar. i mean didn't the person who recorded those vids have a decent 8mb line? the voice keeps cracking (and the phone keeps ringing) like we used to see reporters from the warzone on CNN in the early 90s. please, please IBM (and IBMers) spare two or three hours and check out khan academy videos. again, it is not the content i crib about; just use a camtasia or a camstudio to record the vids – and release the vids in either mp4 or avi formats (so we can see them on iPads and iPhones). the site helpfully recommends mediaplayer 10 and above; and my player v12 on windows7. it is not the player's fault; the flaw is in the recording itself.
i couldn't find a feedback form; but the email of the poster is listed.

update: after trying to watch the vids for about an hour, i gave up. the cracking and hissing is too much – a high school student will produce better videos than this ibm team; surely, ibm can spare a few hundred dollars to sell/support such cutting edge technology?
